Powerbuilding is a combination of two different training styles: powerlifting and bodybuilding. It uses three compound exercises the deadlift, bench press and squat to build strength, while bodybuilding exercises help grow muscle size and definition.
Powerbuilding lets you switch up your focus within the same program and cycle training so you can get the best of both worlds.
Our powerbuilding program has emphasis on strength, with accessory work that helps us get stronger in the main lifts, but also builds mass as we progress. If we take the principle of mechanical tension as the trigger for hypertrophy, then Powerbuilding plays right into the hands of the StrongDad that wants to get stronger, while packing on some functional size.
Our program for powerbuilding comes in two phases:
Phase 1, is a 12 week program focused on beginners or those that haven't done any significant strength program before. It's a good starting point for most people AND will most certainly get results if followed correctly.
Phase 2, again lasting for twelve weeks is for people who have more experience in powerlifting or strength training, or for those looking to build on their results from the phase 1 program. This program is best suited to StrongDads who want to build size and strength.
While it can work for those StrongDads looking to lose fat, its mainly suited to those working at calorie maintenance or ideally in a calorie a surplus.
